I first started getting into electronics at a young age when I was interested in robotic toys. As a kid I built some small stuff such as a robotic mouse and simple electrical projects like a crystal radio. I did not have a computer or access to much growing up most of the time, but found them amazing once I did. Seeing all the potential possibilities of what computers could do really cemented in the direction I wanted to go. But despite these small projects my real interest is in Nano-Tech, Robotics and Bio-Tech. I firmly believe nanotech is the future and think I was born too early. Or I need to make it happen myself! The merger of science and biology is also something that has always interested me as well, genetic modification has such possibilities.
My free time is mostly taken up by my daughter, going to the park or library and playing games together. And trying to find fun things to do on the weekend with her. But when I can I like to add new features to this project, there's plenty of potential features to add. I enjoy learning how to do something new. I have also started to learn to play the electric guitar, not enough to show off yet so dont ask. As for gaming I prefer strategy games, the death of the RTS really sucks. I've been playing games such as Frostpunk, Battletech, FFXIV, ST:Blades of the Shogun and others, finally got away from EVE for now. While doing projects I like to jam out to Electronic or Lofi music, sometimes Rock; I find it helps keep the gears turning. R&B less often but is good too.
Working in the maintenance technicion field at the Emporia,KS Tyson Foods my primary roles include maintaining a multitude of equipment. There I worked with detection systems such as Safeline metal detectors and Xray machines. There are a number of printers I work with such as thermal transfer, Inkjet and melted wax types. Alongside the printers we also maintain labelers for Multivacs and weigh-price labeling systems such as Bizerba scale/labeler and SATO labelers. I also work with various equipment such as motor drives, PLCs, HMIs, Networking and Phone systems and just about any other electrical problem they want to throw at us. Some of the PLC software we use is Unity Pro, and Vijeo for HMI's.
More recently I have moved into the Kansas City area for a similar position. This location is a warehouse and as such does not have production equipment. I mainly have been working on warehouse related equipment such as Wrap Machines, Inverters and Forklifts. While the facility may be smaller, I am kept busy as the Lead for Maintenance. This has given me quite a bit of experience managing, planning, budgeting, project tracking etc. I have maintained my Kansas State Scale License Certification through both of these positions as a Scale Technicion.
This position was for a refrigerated trailer mechanic at Tyson Foods. My primary roles here included doing preventative maintenance on the trailers. As well as repairing wall damage to the interior and doing tire changes and brake repair. I also worked on the refrigeration systems with the other mechanics. Unfortunately I was not there long enough to get my refrigeration license before I moved up into my current position.
While in college I worked with the Kansas Department of Wildlife Parks and Tourism. This was multiple times through part-time positions to do specific tasks. The first time I worked with them I was tasked with minor updates to an Access database they were using. The second time I was tasked with basically building an entirely new database system for them to run more advanced queries through. This was also designed through Access, lots of VBS and SQL. This system was to work with their existing Access database and then allow them to run multiple types of queries for many of the qualities they wanted to check. The system was primarily for the fishing regulations department. and checking the populations of each species by locations, dates and or sizes or any other field. They have also asked me to do a few other minor changes to their databases at other times, the specifics of which I cannot remember now.
I attended college at Emporia State University. Here I focused on software development based courses and received my Bachelors in Computer Science. While there I took classes where the primary languages were C++, COBOL, JAVA and SQL. See also, Software Skills/Coursework on sidebar. I have some example programs built for an ordering system which I built in JAVA. As well as an Android application that was a group project for an unofficial ESU Library App.

This website is developed designed and hosted by myself on the same arduino seen in the projects webpage. No easy drag and drop website edditors used here! I did get the layout from the free use W3schools website. The HTML and Coding for these projects were done myself and I have made quite a few changes over the years. Below here you will also notice that I have variables listed. These are being pulled directly from sensors attached to the arduino board. This data comes from my PC's liquid cooling system. And is both realistically useful for me to monitor the temperratures, flow rate and water level of the system. As well as providing a good real world example of my programmming in action.
